How to build your wedding guest list

The guest list is the spreadsheet that runs the whole wedding — the headcount feeds the venue, the caterer, the seating, and the budget. Keeping it in one place makes every other decision easier.

How to build your guest list

  1. Open your wedding and go to the guest list.
  2. Add each guest — name and email are enough to start.
  3. Add the details you'll need later: meal preference, plus-one, table, notes.
  4. Invite guests by email straight from the list.
  5. Watch RSVPs arrive and update the same row.

When guests RSVP on your wedding website, their answers land on this same list — no manual copying between two places.

Tip: Build it early

Start the list as soon as you book the venue. The count drives the budget from month one, and names can always be added later.

The headcount you land on sets the scale for the rest of the day — from the number of tables to the size of the venue you book.
